Tips: Spot Cleaning

- Always blot or scape up as much material as possible before it soaks into the carpet.
- For scraping solid matter, use a table knife or a SERVPRO scraper. Never use a sharp instrument.
- For blotting liquids use white paper towels or tissues instead of a cloth. If a cloth is used too long, the fibers may be re-deposited in the carpet and spread the stain.
- Never use soap. This frequently leaves a sticky residue that causes rapid resoling.
- Do not allow solvent- based products to penetrate to the backing of carpets. Solvents may damage and soften the latex compounds used to strengthen the carpet.
